Considering her compassionate and caring nature, it’s no surprise that Shanna was drawn to family law. She understands how profoundly a family law matter can impact a person’s emotional health. Thus, she approaches each file in a calm manner to carefully guide clients through issues that arise from both the end and beginning of a relationship. When navigating the end of a relationship, issues like property division, child support, spousal support, and parenting arrangements may need to be addressed through agreement or court order. When navigating the beginning of a new relationship, terms to safeguard assets may need to be negotiated and recorded by written agreement.
Professional, knowledgeable, compassionate and thorough are some of the adjectives client’s have used to describe Shanna. In describing what type of lawyer she strives to be, Shanna believes it’s important to be approachable so that the solicitor-client relationship can be built on trust.
Prior to joining the team at Entrust Law Corporation, Shanna worked at a law firm solely dedicated to the practice of family law. This provided her with a solid foundation from which her practice has grown.
Shanna has represented clients in both the Supreme Court of British Columbia and the Provincial Court of British Columbia. However, while no stranger to Court, Shanna understands that family law issues often require creative and cost-effective solutions that are unlikely to be achieved this way. Accordingly, Shanna encourages her clients to consider all options, including negotiation and mediation.
When Shanna is not at work, you can likely find her outside with her two rescue dogs, hiking and backcountry camping with friends or tending to her (too) many houseplants.
